While working for the National Park Service, I had the opportunity to go deep into the Barataria Preserve in an airboat. The marsh grasses were thick mats of vegetation, broken up by small areas of open water where the gators thrived.
The painting was featured in my "Horizon" exhibition at River Oaks during autumn, 2017, which then moved to two other venues in Alexandria, Louisiana.
This painting is framed in a floater frame made of recycled wood.
